Online survey documents sexual assaults in BC tree-planter camps

More than 70 tree planters have anonymously reported incidents of sexual assault and harassment in B.C.’s remote tree planting camps.

The accounts, nearly all from women, were documented as part of online survey made public at the Western Forestry Contractors’ Association annual conference in Prince George this week.

After listening to the presentation, John Betts, executive director of the association, told CBC News it was “Deeply disturbing, even traumatic.”
